Wolves of the Sea IV

Whale watching cruises in the Pacific Northwest provide a great opportunity to see Orca (Killer Whales) in abundance. That first fin sighting is a rush and seeing the Orca swimming so close always puts a smile on your face. Even more so when they pop up to take a look at you too!

All whale watching boats converge to the waters near Lopez Island once the word is out that Orca pods are out there (the tour groups work together to communicate locations)

Yes Orca are pretty big!

My summer trip out to the San Juan Islands with Victoria Clipper didn’t fail with numerous sightings of small transient pods out on feeding runs near Lopez Island. If you are in the region during summer its something not to be missed!
