Not quite as catchy as WKRP in Cincinnati but what a cool looking Art Moderne style building KPRK Radio (1340 AM) operated out of in Livingston, Montana from 1947 until very recently! Sadly it appears to be more or less abandoned now, as they have moved to new digs but at least the futuristic looking building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior and hasn’t been vandalised, so that’s good to see!

I was simply driving into town to check out the historic downtown area when I saw this building on the outskirts of town. I quickly did a U-turn and headed back for a closer look.
I am glad I did as its a real gem of post World War Two historic architecture (designed in 1946 by Missoula architect William Fox) and I really like the streamlined design, miniature aesthetic radio tower above the entrance and the stylized KPRK call sign letters with the lightning bolts! I forgot to tune into the station though!
REALLY HURTS ME TO SEE THESE BUILDINGS JUST SITTING FADING AWAY …TOO BAD PEOPLE JUST DON T SEE THE HISTORY AND REALITY OF THE OLD PAST BUILDINGS ITS SICKENING.
A sad tale around the world unfortunately
The building is condemned. Building and site are contaminated.
That’s a shame
