Cruising the scenic waters of the Kenai Fjords National Park and seeing a small pod of Orca’s (Killer Whales) was a real highlight of my trip to Alaska. The Orca is a deadly hunter, yet such a magnificent, sleek and beautiful looking creature.
First seeing that unmistakable tall dorsal fin protrude from the water’s surface does not fail to bring a smile to your face. Then to have them come closer and closer to your boat means that smile is going to remain for a very long time.
It was sad to eventually see the pod pass the boat and continue on about their daily activities but what a memory. Alaska the magnificent!
