The Spectacular Landscapes of Denali National Park – Part I: To Polychrome Pass

From taiga and tundra to the mountain peaks of the Alaska Range, Denali National Park has something spectacular for your eyes to feast upon. Enjoy the sights as you travel through the park. The further you go the more rugged, yet open it gets out there.

Once you enter Denali National Park you will soon start to see terrain like this

On a good day you may see Mt. McKinley (North America’s tallest peak) but there is so much more including the views through Sable and Polychrome Pass. The drive through Polychrome Pass includes the highest point of the road through the park and is accompanied with a steep drop off to the river bed far below. This drop off and tight corners through this section of the park provides some slightly tense and amusing moments for passengers aboard the park shuttle bus!
