Concert number 2 for me this week in Boston. Following Adam Ant on Monday night what could be better than seeing a midweek show with one of the long reigning “Queens of Rock“, Pat Benatar? She still rocks too (as does her husband Neil Giraldo on guitar and piano)!
The venue was the House of Blues and what a cavalcade of hits we were treated to! All Fired Up, Love is a Battlefield, We Belong, Shadows of the Night, Hell is for Children, You Better Run, Invincible and many more! Sing along moments were at a peak during Hit Me With Your Best Shot and Heartbreaker.
Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo have been playing together for 35 years and have been married for about 31 of them! They work so well on stage together and show a lot of respect to each other and the crowd (lots of chatting with the crowd). You can easily imagine this is the same offstage and see why they have remained together for so long. This is not that common at all these days in the world of rock n’ roll!
Security were being pretty tight on taking photos on the night, so my shots are just a few sneaky ones I managed to take during the show. Not the best but give you an idea of how close I was to the stage. I am glad I made it to this gig on their summer tour. It was great to finally see a performer that had so many hits when I was growing up! What a great night!
