Yosemite National Park – The Scenic Wonder

Yosemite National Park (established 1890) in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of eastern California has always been on my list of must visit places and I finally got to go there in September 2012. I am so glad I finally made it. Every turn reveals another scenic highlight from the great granite mountains such as the Half Dome and El Capitan to forests and high waterfalls (at this time of year most are just a trickle or completely dry).

I spent just 3 days in Yosemite but you could easily spend weeks exploring the park. I didn’t see a great deal of wildlife apart from deer, squirrels, chipmunks and bird life, but the scenery was the main reason for my visit. Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point and the Tioga Road did not disappoint!

  1. The waterfall looks like a woman’s errr lips & the rainbow is the sweet spot.
Did you say, “Hey Skwerrrllll?” to the squirrel as that’s how it’s pronounced in some parts of the world. Teehee
