Spooky light & fog over the Space Needle

Even though it ultimately was a warm and sunny day, a strange fog hung over parts of Queen Anne on this morning. As the sun was rising this created some rather spooky yet cool light effects through the fog and superstructure of the Space Needle which added an extra dimension to the normal view. Lots of people were milling about looking up and taking photos. I hope my photos can give the full impression of what was quite an unusual sight?

Aside from the fog this morning, it is interesting to note that suprisingly the Pacific Northwest with it’s notorious weather is actually having the best weather in the entire United States at the moment! While every one else is either sweltering in extreme heat, choking on dust, being shook up by earthquakes or swamped by Hurricane Irene and floods we are enjoying nice warm sunny days up here! Perfect!
